Gnorri, daughter of the ocean and sky, is the goddess of the earth in the Elven Pantheon, understood by the elves to be the product of the union of water and sky. From Gnorri, all life sprung, and although Losh is the lawgiver, the elves are most enthusiastic and grateful to keep Gnorri's laws, which mostly relate to their relationship with nature rather than interpersonal conflicts. Among their dogmas, plowing with metal tools, treating animals cruelly, failing to bury their dead and burning live trees are all anathema.

Beyond that, Gnorri is a nurturing goddess who values all life, be it elf, human, hound or thorn. She stands in stark contrast to her betrothed, Shori, God of Fire, but though she adores life, she is no pacifist, and requires not that her followers never take life - only that they not take it in vain or through cruelty.
