To all but the Syranyle elves, Losh, the god of air, has predominance ove rthe pantheon, being the father of the world and the patron of dragons. To the Syranyle, this status was tarnished when the dragons were cast from their skies and Losh became the sole hope of the elven people as they crossed the ocean to flee their numerous enemies.

Even so, Losh is still seen by all elves, Syranyle or otherwise, as the great law-bringer whose commandments govern the day-to-day practice of elves. The Word Carried on the Wind, his sacred text, is a curious volume to celebrants of other religions and philosophies. The notion of Freedom being an aspect of Law, as it is to the elves, can be perplexing, and the idea that the wind represents the truest expression of universal law is bewildering, but the elves were possibly the first to perceive the air as having a real substance and, as such, see it as being that which occupies the space that is unoccupied, the truest expression of a natural law possible.
