Advantages of Running Pathfinder Society Games

There are a few advantages to running Pathfinder Society games, especially in regards to the Thursday night KZoo/BC group games. Chief among these:

One-Offs and Short Games

We are not obligated to run an entire campaign or even a series of scenarios. The longer Pathfinder Society scenarios are modules, typically expected to take three sessions to complete (and providing, appropriately, 3 XP). In other words, there is very little commitment in playing a Pathfinder Society Scenario.

Player Flexibility

Counting DM, a grand total of 4 people are required to play (with the DM running a pregen character just to round out the numbers). In theory, a maximum of 8 can play (with, rarely, a 7th player playing in a 6-player scenario). There is no requirement to have specific people present, or to ensure group cohesion.

DM Flexibility

We can change DMs. We can use the same DM. We can let someone who hasn't DM'd give it a try. There are even replayable materials available, such as the Free RPG Day materials and certain 1st level modules.
