The people of Kurth are hearty northerners. Once vicious raiders and warriors, the nation of Kurth is now dwindling in the stagnant luxury of the twilight of their exarchy. They have contented themselves to be hearty explorers and traders, acquiring exotic goods from faraway lands.

The Giants

Frost, Cloud and Storm Giants were once major antagonists to the Kurthi people, but now all have been driven back to remote holds in the frigid north, the cloud domains and the mountain peaks away from the Kurthi people. The giants are not defeated, however, and one day, it is believed that they will strike, likely as a united force. This threat alone motivates the Kurthi people to retain skill at arms and keep a standing defensive military. Apart from that, plunder has lost its luster.

Real-World Comparison

Denmark or the Nordic Kingdoms post-viking era, but with a burning desire to return to that former glory.

Campaign Role

Exotic goods; faraway lands; these terms are tautologically implied by "New World." In Kurth, both the national leadership and the average citizen are united in their desire to acquire the precious resources and secrets of a New World.
