Arcadia:Matheson Katell

Matheson Katell lived his life mainly in the capitol of Katapesh, working as an adventurer for hire. One day, he and a bunch of adventurers raided an orc camp causing problems along trade roads. After slaying the lot, Matheson finds an imprisoned half-orc child in the chief's tent. He decided to take the child back and raise her as his own. He names her Amelia.

As life in Katapesh continued, Amelia and Matheson lived quite comfortably. She picked up the painting skill, and Matheson tried his luck doing adventures, but when other adventurers finished the quest before him, he picked up the bad habit of gambling to pay for food and rent. All of this went well until Matheson hit a bad stereak and couldn't pay for rent many months in a row.

Matheson is 31 now, and Amelia is 8 years old. When Matheson can't pay his debts, the debt collectors take Amelia and put her into slavery, to act as payment and a lesson to Matheson about oweing people. Fed up with his life as a bad gambler and a failed adventurer, Matheson decides to follow Amelia, which eventually takes him to the new world of Arcadia. He hopes to one day to be reunited with the one thing he actually got right with his life.
