The sapphire coast is a region northwest of Gailifor consisting of fjords, small steep islands, secluded coves, an narrow waterways. It takes its name from the pristine blue of the water, not from the presence of actual gemstones. The entire area is infested with orcs, ogres, gnolls and various demihuman and monstrous creatures.

Real-World Comparison

Any number of fictional or semi-real pirate colonies and cities.

Campaign Role

The Sapphire Coast remains a savage frontier, and the source of the majority of orcs and ogres in the world. While pockets of such creates still exist- sometimes even peacefully -within civilized lands, the Sapphire Coast remains a place of utter brutality where only the strong survive, and one of the few true vestiges of savagery in the Old World.
