Chiura is a Touri deity understood to be one being with eight distinct aspects. Each of these is worshipped as a separate facet of the deity by the priesthood, but the god himself is understood to be one entity, and even at the extreme ends, Chiura's priesthood is expected to relate to one another on, if not entirely friendly, civil terms.

==The Phases of Chiura==

Chiura is guided in his monthly journey by the phases of the moon. If frequently comes as a surprise to non-adherents of the faith that while the titles of Chiura differ between his different aspects, in every "incarnation," he is still seen as Chiura, the mad god.

===Full Moon===

In his full moon incarnation, Chiura is a glorious king, leader of his people, protector of home, hearth and happiness and creator and appreciator of beautiful things. His followers seek to spread goodness and light, seeing in the full moon at full cup, running over with good things.

===Waning Gibbous===

In his waning gibbous incarnation, chiura is a judge and maintainer of law and order. He is a fair judge who does not respect social position in his rulings. His followers seek to hold all to the same standard, seeing in the waning gibbous moon the tipped scale that proves the weight of guilt.

===Waning Half===

Chiura's half-moon aspect is a spoiled duke, who dreads the thought of death severing him from all the vainglory he has acquired (as it has the wife he once held). In his petulance, he extends his hand to those who would share in his quest to liberate himself from this cycle. The followers of the Spoiled Duke see in the half-moon a half empty tomb. Perhaps it is the Duke's tomb, awaiting his body, or perhaps the duke has yet another enemy to slay to fill the tomb.

The waning crescent aspect of Chiura is a cad and base villain, seeking to take what he wants, despite it being the rightful property of another. He is cruel, deceitful, petty, bitter and terrifying, but, above all, he is a survivor, and will not be laid low by his enemies. His followers see in the waning crescent, a razor - a weapon useful only in ambush - and seek to survive and thrive by any means, in the spirit of emulating the Blood-Palmed Skulk.

The new moon form of Chiura is a force of nature, letting go of all higher urges to satisfy its cravings for death and absolute immodest freedom. In the new moon, his followers see the masked celebrant, cloaked behind a shroud that conceals him in anonymous drunken bliss. They seek to be the storm of violent emotions and reckless abandon that typifies their god at his maddest.

In the waxing crescent, his followers see an empty purse - symbolic both of spending yourself to the last dime and setting out on a journey with just the clothes on your back. They seek, like the Prodigal Prince, to experience all life has to offer.

The waxing half-moon aspect of Chiura is devoted to freeing those in bondage, righting wrongs and triumphing over persecution. Even at his cruelest, Chiura does not tolerate slavery, and the Fiefless Lord bids all be kings over themselves and fight against the lash of tyranny. In the waxing half moon, his followers see a broken manacle. They seek, therefore, to end tyranny and right wrongs in their god's name.

The waxing gibbous aspect of Chiura is the healer and soother of wounds and troubled minds. He sees the suffering of his people and shares in it keenly. He wishes only to bring comfort to the sick sad and dying and hope to the hopeless. In the waxing crescent moon, his followers see the swell of motherhood and, in it, Chiura's lover for all living things. They seek to bring his comfort and healing to all.
